“There is no such concept as a failed artist; it is a success to be one.” – Anonymous
You have likely heard that the individuals who are the most successful are those which “go against the grain” and that “smile, listen, nod and do what they were going to do anyway”. Of course, it is impossible to deny such facts and there are countless examples of those immortal few who have made a real change within their own lives and upon the lives of those around them. So, what is their secret? Better yet, is there one universal “truth” or does success have more to do with a mindset than a formula? If you believe the second statement to be true, you have already taken the first step.
Discard the Dogma!
Throughout our entire lives, we have been taught to conform. If we thought different in school or university, we were likely disciplined. Free thinking was hardly encouraged and if anything, conformity was (and is) embraced. Could this possibly be the reason why there are so many unfulfilled individuals in the world today? Let’s look at this in another way. Here are two strikingly different approaches to life:
- Waking up in the morning, waiting in traffic for an hour in a car that you are still paying for, arriving at a job which you dislike only to return home and fall asleep in the house that you hardly see due to your schedule.
- Breaking away from conventional thought and perceiving, believing and ACHIEVING success.
In this perspective, which seems more “crazy” to you? So, the bottom line is that you MUST be a little crazy (and yes, take a risk) in order to achieve anything even close to your true potential. In this sense, “crazy” is undoubtedly in the eye of the beholder!
Easier Said Than Done?
Of course, there are many self-proclaimed “gurus” who each advertise that they have found the key to success, happiness and attraction. Still, if this were the truth, why are so many individuals still trying to find such elusive ideals? The answer here is simple. You have to first unlock the door before you can step outside and into the environment of your true potential.
You are likely under the impression that while this is naturally true, such an approach is impossible to achieve in this day and age. After all, you have bills to pay, a mortgage, monthly rent and possibly even a family to support. Barring becoming a monk and meditating in Tibet for the rest of your life, what are your other options? This is a perfectly rational question and without being realistic, we can never expect to get very far. Still, does this mean we must be trapped by the confines of the preconceived notions that we were taught as a child? Indeed, many of these beliefs are just as outdated as the perspectives in which they were created. So, what are we to do?
Throw Away the Shackles…
I’m Going to Succeed Because I’m Crazy Enough to Think I Can is a way to “unlearn” much of what we have taken for granted over the years. It is a manual for success; an itinerary for achievement. However, it is abundantly clear that there is no such concept as “one size fits all” when it comes to your dreams, goals, visions and achievements. Instead, it is an approach and a mindset that must be developed over time. Let’s never forget that the mind is a muscle. The more it is exercised, the better it will perform! So, we will begin to “retrain your brain” to look at things through different eyes.
This is what is known as the power of thought. If we think for a moment about this concept, it is impossible to deny. It has been known for some time that meditation can control pain, lower blood pressure, prevent heart disease and even promote healing. All of these beliefs were thought of as “crazy” before they were proven true. So, why should thinking outside of the box be considered any crazier? In I’m Going to Succeed Because I’m Crazy Enough to Think I Can, this is but one of the many concepts that we will touch upon.
